Shay Kawaii is an independent fashion brand founded in New York City and now based in Miami, Florida. Known for bold, expressive fashion and original designs, the brand creates handmade-to-order pieces from its Miami atelier.
Shay Kawaii was born from founder Shay's love for fashion that felt bold, expressive, and different from what she could find in stores. Wanting clothing that better reflected her personality, she began sketching ideas, customizing outfits, and eventually creating her own designs.
Born and raised in Paris, Shay developed an early appreciation for fashion, craftsmanship, and creativity. Some years spent in the Caribbean brought another influence through color, music, culture, and tropical energy. She later moved to New York City, where she studied fashion and became immersed in the city's diverse creative culture.
It was in New York City that Shay Kawaii officially came to life. The brand developed its own identity by bringing together influences from Y2K fashion, alternative fashion, goth, punk, festival and rave culture, Harajuku style, music, and Caribbean culture.
Shay Kawaii calls Miami home, where our pieces are designed and handmade in our atelier. Every collection continues to evolve, but the idea behind the brand remains the same: creating original fashion for people who aren't afraid to express themselves.

Every piece starts with an original concept. We sketch, develop, and refine each design in house, experimenting with silhouettes, proportions, fabrics, and details until the idea comes to life.
02 The Details
We love layering textures, mixing materials, adding hardware, chains, lace, distressed finishes, and bold details to create pieces that feel unmistakably Shay Kawaii. Our approach is maximalist by nature. More texture, more detail, more attitude.
03 Handmade in Miami
Our pieces are handmade to order in our Miami atelier by our team of skilled artisans. Rather than mass producing inventory, we create each order individually, allowing us to maintain the craftsmanship and attention to detail behind the brand.
04 Quality Control
Before leaving our atelier, every piece goes through a final quality check to make sure the construction, finishing, and details meet our standards.
