Shay Kawaii was created from a love of fashion that felt louder, more emotional, and more expressive than what existed in stores. Struggling to find clothing that truly reflected her personality, Shay began sketching ideas, customizing outfits, and creating pieces for herself.

Born and raised in Paris, where fashion, craftsmanship, and artistic expression are woven into everyday culture, Shay developed an early appreciation for detail, quality, and the emotional power of clothing. Years spent in the Caribbean surrounded by color, music, and tropical energy, followed by fashion school in New York City immersed in underground fashion and creative culture, helped launch and shape the world behind the brand.

Now based in Miami Brickell (formerly based in NYC), Shay Kawaii blends influences from Harajuku fashion, Y2K nostalgia, punk energy, gothic glamour, festival and rave culture, and subtle Caribbean influences woven through collections inspired by the nostalgia of the past, the energy of the present, and the fantasy of what's to come.

Every Shay Kawaii piece is handmade-to-order in our Miami atelier with an emphasis on craftsmanship, individuality, and attention to detail.
