Shay Kawaii was created from a love of fashion that felt louder, more emotional, and more expressive than what existed in stores. Struggling to find clothing that truly reflected her personality, Shay began sketching ideas, customizing outfits, and creating pieces for herself.

Born and raised in Paris, where fashion, craftsmanship, and artistic expression are woven into everyday culture, Shay developed an early appreciation for detail, quality, and the emotional power of clothing. Years spent in the Caribbean surrounded by color, music, and tropical energy, followed by time in New York City immersed in underground fashion and creative culture, helped shape the world behind the brand.

Now based in Miami, Shay Kawaii blends influences from Harajuku fashion, Y2K nostalgia, punk energy, gothic glamour, festival and rave culture, and subtle Caribbean influences woven through collections inspired by the nostalgia of the past, the energy of the present, and the fantasy of what’s to come.

Every Shay Kawaii piece is handmade-to-order in our Miami-Brickell atelier with an emphasis on craftsmanship, individuality, and attention to detail. Our clients invest in pieces designed to feel personal, expressive, and collectible: clothing meant to be re-worn, re-styled, photographed, traveled in, and remembered.

What began as a personal creative outlet has evolved into an internationally recognized brand worn across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

Every collection begins with a story. Drawing inspiration from past, present, and fantasy, we develop concepts, sketches, fabrics, and details that bring each collection to life.

We carefully source fabrics, trims, hardware, and embellishments that align with our vision for each design. Every material is selected not only for its appearance, but also for its comfort, durability, movement, and ability to become part of a garment that will be worn and remembered.

3.  Handmade Craftsmanship

Unlike products manufactured in large quantities, every Shay Kawaii piece is handmade in our Miami atelier. Each garment is individually cut, sewn, assembled, and finished by skilled professionals who bring our designs to life with care and precision.

4.  Attention to Detail

The details are where the magic happens. From fit adjustments and fabric placement to rhinestones, hardware, trims, and finishing touches, every element is thoughtfully considered to ensure each piece reflects the standards and creative vision of the brand.

5.  Quality Control

Before a piece leaves our atelier, it undergoes a final quality inspection. We carefully review construction, finishing, fit, and overall presentation to ensure every garment meets our expectations before reaching its new owner.
